What to eat is the biggest question most people ask me. If you aren’t asking that question, you might want to.
In today’s world there is so much conflicting information on what to eat or not eat, but I hope we all can agree that fast food is not good for our minds or bodies (even if you think it taste good). 🙂
Being in the wellness industry for almost 20 years now, I have worked with many different nutritionists and dietitians. I have done the low carb, low fat, cutting calories, drinking protein shakes, eating protein bars, no diary, dairy, tons of salads, very little salads, supplements, you name it.
I was having a few clients of mine struggling with weight loss. They were working out more, eating less, and eating better but not seeing the results they desired. Thank God, that’s when I was introduced to Tracie Fountain. Tracie is a professional nutritional consultant and desires much more than weight loss for you. She wants you to be as healthy and energetic as possible!
Tracie and I work great together for quite a few reasons.
1. We both have the same definition of wellness: a strong and healthy mind, body and spirit.
2. With that definition we believe that food and exercise is ONLY a part of being healthy.
3. We are NOT the “get skinny quick” nutrition and exercise girls. We believe there are many layers that need to be addressed for women to have energy, feel great, and look great.
Here are few tips from me and a few I’ve learned from Tracie:
1. Never eat a protein alone (meats, eggs).
2. Never eat a carbohydrate alone (fruits, vegetables, grains, beans).
3. Always eat breakfast.
4. Read labels – if it has more than 5 ingredients, you should be able to pronounce them and know what they are.
5. Shop the perimeter of your grocery store.
6. If your great grandmother didn’t eat it, you shouldn’t either.
7. Stay away from fast food.
8. Good fat is good for you, your body needs it (coconut oil, olive oil).
A lot of people ask what I eat so I thought I’d share it with you. I hope it helps you with balancing your blood sugars, Â (protein, carb & fat always eaten together).
Eat things that make you feel good.
Listen to your body. How does it feel after you eat something? Are you bloated? Tired? Gassy? If so, maybe your body isn’t digging what you are putting in it. Your taste buds might, but the rest of you isn’t.
How you fuel your body is a HUGE part of your weight loss journey and energy level!
