Objective was to try to figure out what God expects of me. To work on living for him and not myself. Focusing more on what the He thinks of me instead of the world. Am I doing what He put me on this earth to do? Do I want only what I selfishly want in life, or do I want what God wants for me? Am I receptive to being guided by His will?
What a perfect month for this to be my topic of interest as I was attending a conference with a few friends that was focusing on your physical, emotional, and spiritual life. It was a conference that claimed to be life changing that offered intense biblical teachings on healing and disease prevention and their toxic roots. They also claimed during the teachings that healing and restoration could take place.
Well, let’s just say it has changed my life forever. It was nothing any of us expected but were all searching for and in need of.
The name of the conference was Healing and Equipping put on by Restoring Lives International (RLI). They are based out of Ohio and “just happened” to be coming to Wisconsin for their first out-of-state conference. Hmmmm….coincidence, I don’t think so. They were the most humble and loving people we have seen, which made it all the easier. I’m not going to lie, at first I thought it was a complete freak show and wasn’t sure if I was going to stay for it, but after an hour into it, I and the others were hooked. RLI explained how science has found that about 87% of all physical diseases are due to “Toxic Thoughts” – junk/sin in our lives (taken from Who Switched off My Brain by Caroline Leaf, Ph.D.).
The conference does what it promises, giving hope, answers and freedom.
What I learned:
1. We are a spirit, have a soul and live in a body.
2. To see myself as God sees me.
3. I have a choice to think the thoughts that come into my mind.
4. To take every thought captive.
5. Your internal reality dictates your external reality.
6. To really love myself.
7. All of our thoughts, emotions and words have power. They either release life or death.
8. Once we have a loving relationship with God, we move towards our destiny.
9. We have sin, but we are not the sin.
10. Sin consists of pride, anger, jealousy, fear, stress, hatred, unforgiveness, bitterness, addictions, etc.
11. Healing is alive and well! God stills heals today!
12. Negative thoughts produce negative chemistry and positive thoughts produce positive chemistry in our body.
13. Prayer is the most powerful tool we have.
I have never felt the love or the presence of God in my heart until I went to this conference.
Where I am now:
I have to admit, it has been quite overwhelming but very eye opening and refreshing. I now see the world differently.
Since the conference I:
1. Hardly watch any TV (1 show to be exact), no interest
2. Have a hard time listening to a lot of the music that is out there
3. Have gone off all my medications (thyroid, adrenal fatigue, digestive enzymes, etc.)
4. Have had my perioral dermatitis clear up (face rash)
5. Look to the world less and to God more
6. Feel more content
7. Have a better sense of self
8. And now see people and the world so extremely differently
The answers to my objectives:
1. What does God expects of me?
To see myself as he sees me and to love myself completely so I can love God and others to the fullest.
2. To work on living for him and not myself.
This is a daily challenge and takes constant prayer.
3. Am I doing what He put me on this earth to do?
Yes, to a point. I am enhancing the lives of women through fitness but there is more for me. I want to know the desires of women’s hearts so I can speak God’s truth into them to help them fulfill their purpose in life.
4. Do I want only what I selfishly want in life, or do I want what God wants for me?
After learning more at these conferences, I am all for wanting what He wants for me! I just need to learn to get the heck out of the way!
Timing is everything. I wouldn’t have been ready for a conference like this a couple of years ago. I also learned that if I have to force something, it isn’t meant to be.
RLI plans to host a conference here in Madison in 2013. I pray you prepare your heart and consider attending it, it will change your world for the better.
